Resources

Four tools.

No cost, no email wall on the first one.

1. Accreditation Self-Assessment

A two-minute walkthrough of the four qualification pathways. It tells you which, if any, you meet, and what documentation a sponsor is likely to request given your route.

It doesn’t determine your status — only you and your advisers can do that — and it isn’t a verification letter. It’s a structured way to work out where you stand before a sponsor asks.

2. Due Diligence Checklist

A printable checklist covering the questions worth asking before subscribing to any private offering, organized by category: structure, economics, sponsor, documentation, tax, and exit. Built to be worked through with the offering documents in front of you.

3. Sponsor Scorecard

The ten-category scoring framework from our sponsor evaluation guide, as a worksheet. Score each category 1–5, note the evidence, and compare sponsors on the same basis rather than on the quality of their decks.

4. Fee Calculator

Enter your investment amount, hold period, fee structure at each layer, and expected gross return. It shows your net after all fees, the total dollars paid, and the effective percentage of your gain absorbed by the vehicles.

Independent Sources Worth Knowing

  • SEC EDGAR — search Form D filings for any sponsor’s prior offerings
  • FINRA BrokerCheck — registration and disclosure history for individuals and firms
  • SEC Investment Adviser Public Disclosure (IAPD) — adviser registration and Form ADV
  • SEC Office of Investor Education — investor alerts and bulletins on private offerings
  • Your state securities regulator — enforcement actions and local registration requirements

These are free, primary, and not selling anything. Use them before you use ours.
